unveils series of broadband product initiatives to enhance competitiveness and
cement broadband sector leadership

26 April, 2004 – ntl Incorporated (NASDAQ: NTLI) today unveiled a series of
initiatives to enhance the competitiveness and strength of its broadband product
range. The Company is the largest single provider of broadband services in the
UK with over one million residential customers using its high quality service
and has over 30% broadband market share.
ntl
is boosting its three broadband services to higher speeds, at no extra cost to
customers. This will provide a significant competitive advantage, offering the
highest speeds in the high volume entry-level and mid-tier sectors, while at the
high end, ntl will offer 50% more speed than the main providers of ADSL.

The
new speeds are being rolled out across the ntl cable network to existing and new
customers. Customers will receive
communication in advance of the speed increase.
ntl
has an outstanding track record of innovation in broadband, having pioneered
speed-tiering some years ago and launching the UK’s first 1Mb service.
Today it also unveils a number of other broadband initiatives:

ntl is linking with Openwave and Highwinds, both global leaders in
internet technology, to enhance its email and newsgroups services for broadband
customers. ntl customers will have access to a new state of the art email
platform and one of the largest news group platforms in Europe, providing faster
access speeds, greater storage volume and improved access.

ntl has now completed a broadband technology trial featuring flexible
bandwidth options and this has received excellent feedback from customers on the
trial. This is the first completed trial of its kind in the UK.

ntl’s high-value premium content service, Broadband Plus, has made a
fast start. This summer the line up will be boosted with the launch of PhotoBox,
a provider of digital photography services, and MTV Live. This will complete the
first phase of its development on time and with excellent customer feedback.
This product provides £30/month of content available from ntl for only
£3.99 with the first 3 months for free.

ntl’s innovative online customer service tool, Broadband Medic,
launches this month providing customers with a quick and friendly interface to
automatically diagnose and repair many connection or email problems.
